Overview
Workflow Alignment turns research into practical planning answers. It captures the decisions AlphaTales needs before generating the Application Workflow.
Internal apps and customer apps use different question focus, but the goal is the same: make the first workflow clear enough to plan features.
Open Workflow Alignment
Open your project after research is complete and select Workflow Alignment from the project flow or next action. If the step is not ready, finish Project Breakdown and research first.
If the page shows existing answers, review them before continuing. Project changes can make old answers less accurate.
Answer Internal Questions
For internal apps, expect questions about:
- Usage flow - How work starts, moves, and finishes.
- Data systems - Which tools or records the app depends on.
- Roles and permissions - Who can view, approve, edit, assign, or report.
- Rules and exceptions - Approval rules, edge cases, and escalation paths.
- Success readiness - What must be true before the team can build or adopt the app.
Answer with real operational details. Name roles, steps, source systems, decision rules, and reporting needs where possible.
Answer Customer Questions
For customer apps, answer with customer journey context. Focus on the primary user, the main action they need to complete, the decisions they make, and the product outcome they expect.
Keep answers specific. A clear workflow answer is more useful than a broad product goal.
Save And Continue
Complete the required answers and save the alignment step. Wait for the page to confirm the update before leaving.
If a required answer is missing or invalid, update it and save again.
Tip: Treat Workflow Alignment as a decision checkpoint. If the team disagrees here, resolve the disagreement before generating the Application Workflow.
Recover From Problems
If the page is empty, return to the research step and confirm the report is complete. If saving fails, retry after reviewing the message shown on the page.
If you cannot open the page, ask a project owner or admin to confirm your access.
Next Steps
After Workflow Alignment is complete, continue to Application Workflow. That step turns the answers into a flow map and detailed workflow nodes.
