Terms of Service

Effective June 12, 2026

The agreement for using AlphaTales, including accounts, workspaces, AI-assisted output, subscriptions, credits, and service access.

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of AlphaTales, including our website, application, AI-assisted product planning tools, subscriptions, credits, support, and related services.

AlphaTales is operated by AlphaTales Technologies Pty Ltd. By creating an account, purchasing a plan, joining a workspace, or using AlphaTales, you agree to these terms. If you use AlphaTales for a company, startup, team, or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.

These terms incorporate our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, AI Content and Ownership Policy, Copyright and IP Policy, and Refund and Cancellation Policy.

2. What AlphaTales provides

AlphaTales helps founders and teams turn early product ideas into structured planning artifacts such as discovery notes, requirements, feature outlines, technical context, build briefs, and implementation handoff material.

The service combines software workflows, third-party infrastructure, and artificial intelligence. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, non-unique, or unsuitable for your particular product, market, technical, commercial, or legal context. You are responsible for reviewing and adapting output before relying on it, sharing it, or using it in a business or technical decision.

In these terms, your input means the prompts, descriptions, files, notes, and other material you submit to AlphaTales. Output means the plans, briefs, recommendations, text, diagrams, or other material generated or returned by AlphaTales from your input.

AlphaTales is a planning and documentation aid. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, compliance, safety-critical, or other professional advice.

3. Accounts, workspaces, and users

You must provide accurate account information, keep your login credentials secure, and use AlphaTales only if you can legally enter into these terms.

  • You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Workspace owners are responsible for invited users, roles, permissions, and shared project data.
  • If you invite another user, you must have the right to share the relevant workspace content with them.
  • You must notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, unpaid fees, or platform integrity.

We will try to give notice before suspension where practical, but urgent security, abuse, legal, or payment risks may require faster action.

4. Subscriptions, credits, and billing

Paid plans, seats, credits, usage allowances, renewal periods, taxes, and payment timing are shown at checkout, in your account, or in an agreed order form. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the billing period shown unless cancelled before renewal. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge the payment method you provide.

  • Credits and usage allowances are not money, stored value, legal tender, or transferable property.
  • Unused credits may expire, reset, or be forfeited according to the plan terms shown when purchased.
  • Usage-based charges may apply if your plan allows usage beyond included limits.
  • You must keep billing information current and pay undisputed amounts when due.
  • Plan changes may affect features, limits, pricing, credits, seats, and renewal timing.

We may change pricing or plan features for future billing periods by giving reasonable notice through the service, by email, or at checkout. If you do not agree to a change, you can cancel before the change takes effect. Refund and cancellation rules are explained in our Refund and Cancellation Policy. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Your content, feedback, and AI output

You keep the rights you have in project descriptions, prompts, files, notes, and other content you submit to AlphaTales. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights, permissions, and lawful basis needed to submit that content and use the resulting output.

To operate AlphaTales, you grant us a limited permission to host, process, transmit, display, secure, troubleshoot, and otherwise use your content as reasonably needed to provide, maintain, protect, support, comply with law, and enforce these terms.

We do not claim ownership of your private project content. We may use aggregated or de-identified usage information to understand and improve AlphaTales. We will not use private project content to train or fine-tune foundation models unless we clearly tell you and you have agreed through the relevant plan, feature, or setting.

AlphaTales Technologies Pty Ltd and its licensors keep all rights in the AlphaTales platform, software, workflows, templates, prompts, interface, documentation, know-how, trademarks, and other service materials.

Subject to applicable law and these terms, you may use AI-generated output created for you through AlphaTales. See the AI Content and Ownership Policy for important limits on originality, similarity, third-party rights, and human review.

If you give us product feedback, suggestions, or ideas, we may use them without owing you compensation or treating them as confidential, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

6. Acceptable use and customer responsibility

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy and all applicable laws. You may not abuse, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or bypass the security and usage controls of AlphaTales.

  • Do not submit secrets, credentials, payment card data, government identifiers, or sensitive personal information unless the feature expressly supports that data and you have the right to provide it.
  • Do not use AlphaTales to build, distribute, or improve malware, deceptive systems, unlawful surveillance, spam, or harmful content.
  • Do not use AlphaTales to make automated decisions about people without lawful authority, appropriate human review, and required notices.
  • Do not present AI output as human-authored, verified, legally approved, or production-ready when it has not been properly reviewed.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate action including content removal, rate limiting, workspace restrictions, suspension, or account termination.

7. Privacy, security, and third-party providers

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information and project-related data.

AlphaTales may use infrastructure, authentication, payment, analytics, support, communications, and AI providers to operate the service. Some providers may process data outside Australia. We use these providers so we can run a small, reliable product, and we expect you to avoid submitting content that should not be processed by those providers.

We work to protect AlphaTales, but no online service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for managing access to your own devices, accounts, workspaces, exports, and downstream use of AlphaTales output.

8. Service changes, previews, and availability

We aim to provide a useful and reliable service, but AlphaTales is still evolving. We may add, change, limit, pause, or discontinue features where reasonably needed for product improvement, safety, security, legal compliance, cost control, provider changes, or operational reasons.

Beta, preview, experimental, or free features may be changed or withdrawn with less notice than paid generally available features. We will try to avoid materially reducing paid plan value during a current billing period without notice or an appropriate remedy where required by law.

Third-party services that you choose to connect or use outside AlphaTales may have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party products that are not controlled by us.

9. Disclaimers, consumer guarantees, and liability

AlphaTales is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the service or AI output will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, original, non-infringing, or fit for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, warranty, right, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AlphaTales Technologies Pty Ltd and its personnel are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, loss of data, business interruption, or losses caused by your misuse of the service, your content, third-party services, or unreviewed use of AI output.

Where liability can lawfully be limited, our total liability for claims connected with AlphaTales is limited to the greater of AUD $100 or the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify AlphaTales Technologies Pty Ltd and its personnel against losses, claims, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of AlphaTales, your infringement of third-party rights, or your use of AlphaTales output in a product, service, document, or decision. This obligation applies only to the extent the loss is caused by your acts or omissions.

11. Cancellation and termination

You may stop using AlphaTales at any time and may cancel paid subscriptions according to the cancellation process made available in your account or through support. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically create a refund unless our Refund and Cancellation Policy or applicable law requires one.

We may terminate or restrict access where reasonably necessary because of material breach, non-payment, account inactivity, legal requirement, security risk, misuse, or discontinuation of the service. After termination, these terms continue where their nature requires it, including payment obligations, ownership terms, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnities, and dispute terms.

12. General terms

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise. The courts of Queensland and the Commonwealth courts of Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before it applies. Your continued use of AlphaTales after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service and cancel any paid plan before the next renewal.

You may not assign these terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate restructure, sale of assets, or transfer of the AlphaTales business, provided the assignee remains responsible for the obligations that apply after assignment.

If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. If there is a dispute, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it in good faith before either party starts formal proceedings, except where urgent injunctive, security, or legal action is needed.
