Overview
Dev Pack is the project handoff package. It bundles ready planning material into a downloadable archive that developers or AI coding tools can use.
Internal and customer projects can include different material. Internal app Dev Packs focus on workflow, features, and architecture. Customer project Dev Packs can also include the PRD when it is available.
Open Dev Pack
Open your project and select Dev Pack from the sidebar. Review the available content and any setup options shown on the page.
Items that are not ready appear unavailable until you complete the earlier planning step.
Select Content
Choose the content you want to include:
- Features - Feature specifications selected from the project.
- Technical Architecture - Architecture style, stack choices, and high-level direction.
- PRD - Product requirements material for customer projects when available.
Internal app projects do not need a PRD to create a useful Dev Pack. Focus on the confirmed workflow, feature scope, and architecture decisions.
Choose Features
Use the feature selection dialog to choose which features belong in the handoff. Include the features that represent the first build target.
Avoid packaging draft, duplicate, or future-version features unless the development team needs them for context.
Choose An Archive Format
Select the archive format shown on the page, then download the package. Wait for AlphaTales to finish preparing the archive before leaving the page.
Warning: Large projects can take longer to package. Do not close the tab while the download is being prepared.
Use IDE Integrations
The Dev Pack page can also help you connect compatible development tools. After connecting, your coding assistant can use AlphaTales project and feature context while you work.
Next Steps
Share the Dev Pack with the team that will build the project. If something important is missing, return to the earlier planning step, update the project, and create a fresh Dev Pack.
