Application Workflow
Map application flows and generate detailed workflow nodes
What you'll learn
- Review the application flow map before detail generation
- Generate detailed workflow nodes from selected flows
- Handle incomplete, loading, failed, or permission-limited states
Overview
Application Workflow turns your aligned product decisions into buildable flow structure. It has two layers: first you review the application flow map, then AlphaTales generates detailed workflow nodes for the flows you approve.
Open Application Workflow
Open a project and select Application Workflow from the project navigation or project overview. This page becomes useful after workflow alignment has enough context.
If AlphaTales asks you to complete another step first, follow that prompt before returning. Earlier validation and alignment answers shape the workflow shown here.
Review The Application Flow Map
Read the suggested flow groups from start to finish. Check that the major user actions, actors, triggers, outcomes, and flow groups match the product you want to build.
Add a missing flow, remove duplicate flows, or edit unclear flow names before generating details. The flow map should represent the first-version product journey, not every possible future path.
Generate Detailed Workflow Nodes
After the flow map looks right, click Generate Detailed Workflows. AlphaTales expands the approved flows into detailed workflow nodes that explain the steps users move through.
Review the generated nodes for missing actions, confusing order, or flows that do not match the target audience. You can refine a workflow, add a workflow manually, or edit the generated structure before confirming.
Confirm The Workflow
Confirm the workflow only when the flow map and detailed nodes match the intended product journey. Confirmation signals that the workflow is ready to guide Feature Groups and feature planning.
If confirmation is disabled, check whether a required section is missing or a generation action is still running. Wait for active work to finish before trying again.
Recover From Problems
If the page is empty, return to Workflow Alignment and confirm that step is complete.
If the page is loading, wait for the workflow to finish preparing. If it fails, retry from the page or return to the project overview and reopen the step.
If you do not have permission to confirm the workflow, ask an owner, admin, or project lead to review it. If an AI action is blocked by plan or credit limits, review your usage before regenerating.
Next Steps
After confirming the application workflow, continue to Feature Groups. Feature Groups organize related capabilities before you create or generate detailed features.
